Frequently Asked Questions

What is Base Camp bundle?

Base Camp is a special bundle that comes with a customized licensing scheme. For more details, please contact to our Licensing Department.

You can think of it as a background solution that integrates all your designs behind talent, which is positioned in the foreground.

In the Base Camp studio setup, due to the nature of the bundle, no objects in front of the talent will be rendered, regardless of whether these objects are translucent or completely solid.

To set up Base Camp correctly, follow these steps:

  • Launch your project with Reality Editor.
  • Navigate to Edit > Project Settings.
  • Go to Rendering > Postprocessing.
  • Find the "Enable alpha channel support in post processing (experimental)" property and select "Disabled."
  • Save all changes.

Switch to the Reality Hub web interface.

  • Launch your project via the Launcher module.
  • Select the UE5 node.
  • In the Node Details Panel, choose UE5.
  • Navigate to Reality Actors > Reality Camera > Fly Offset > Video Camera > Reality Mask.
  • Go to Properties section.
  • Disable the Render Reality Mask and Reality Video Projection DOFByPass properties.

Your Base Camp setup is ready.

I received a red warning text over a tracking node says High Network Jitter (>5 ms)

If the time between each tracking data packet arrival exceeds 5 milliseconds, the tracking node displays a warning. In such scenarios, it is highly recommended to check your tracking network. It would also be helpful to observe the Timing Jitter and Maximum Timing Jitter properties of the tracking node.

What is the purpose of NeverStarve property in track nodes?

The NeverStarve property in track node ensures it won't suffer from resource starvation, meaning it won't be perpetually denied necessary resources to process its work.

I observe loss of details in bright areas.

In Reality version 5.4, the default value for the Render Display Output has been changed from DOF_SDR_sRGB to DOF_HDR_LinearWithToneCurve. This change addresses a previously observed conflict where color differences occurred between the Editor and Play modes.

With the new default setting (DOF_HDR_LinearWithToneCurve), the scene's tone is controlled by the ToneMapper within the PostProcess volume.

However, if you prefer to use Reality nodes for scene color correction and tone mapping, we recommend switching the Render Display Output to DOF_HDR_LinearEXR.

This approach bypasses tone mapping effects from the PostProcess volume, thus preventing potential overexposure and loss of detail in bright areas.

Selecting the DOF_HDR_LinearWithToneCurve property does not carry gamma values over the given range. In such a scenario, using the ColorCorrection node may lead to unwanted results.

To overcome this, we recommend selecting DOF_HDR_LinearEXR in your pipeline, which has the full GammaRange without ToneMapper, and then using an additional ColorCorrection node.

What is Process Node?

Process nodes are special nodes serves as a functional unit responsible for processing data and performing operations on input values to generate desired outputs. To set an example, UE5 node is a process node.
