Operating Lino
With Reality Hub version 2.0, the Lino module has superseded the Newsroom and Playout modules. It includes every feature that Newsroom and Playout provided while adding many additional features and capabilities. Therefore, you can use Lino module for all playout scenarios.
In this section, we will use Onair Graphics MSAA Examples, one of Reality Editor's example projects under the On-Air Graphics category.
- Launch the Launch_Level of Onair Graphics MSAA Examples in Configuration Mode, prepare the example graph, and activate the Advanced Preview Monitor.
- Switch to the Lino module.
By default, Lino shows all templates that belong to Nodos Templates and Motion Design Templates.
- Click on the Show Online Motion Design Templates button, as illustrated above. This displays online templates in your level (in our example, the Launch_Level).
Alternatively, you can navigate to Select Channels and change it to your current channel (in our example, the Virtual Studio Channel). With this second method, you select the channel defined in Main Menu > Configuration > Engines > Channels. For more details, see the Shows and Channels and Channels Configuration sections.
- Find and select FS_Compare, then drag and drop it into the Rundown Area.
- Click on the Rundown Menu and select Save As. In the popup menu, define a name and click Save.
Your content is now ready to play, as shown above.
- Click the Play In/Out button and check the Advanced Preview Monitor for the results.
When you play your content, several changes occur, as shown above:
- The Play In/Out button inside the Rundown Area turns red.
- The Play In/Out button inside the Output Controls turns red.
- Template Play Status turns on and red, beside the Rundown Name.
- The Rundown Item color turns into muted reddish-brown. When you have multiple rundown items, the active one turns red.
Clicking the Play In/Out button again takes your animation out, based on your design setup.
Reusing Items
You can reuse your design by duplicating a rundown item and modifying its properties.
- Right-click a rundown item and select Duplicate from the Rundown Item Context Menu.
As soon as you duplicate a rundown item or add a new one, the rundown is automatically saved.
- Change the properties according to your requirements.
- Rename your rundown item for better organization.
- Click the Play In/Out button of the first rundown item to take the first content out.
- Click the Play In/Out button of the second rundown item to take the second content in.

Instant Updates
Lino allows you to instantly apply content changes on-air. If you modify exposed properties and want the updates to be reflected immediately (without first taking the content out and then bringing the updated content in), you can use the instant update feature.
To instantly update your content, click the Program In button inside the Output Controls.
Playing Next Item
The logic and style of playing the next content entirely depends on Transition Logic. In other words, Transition Logic defines the behavior of your animations when pages change.
