What is Reality Hub?

Reality Hub is a web-based control interface for Reality5. It allows you to manage Reality5 operations from a web browser, such as Google Chrome, without installing additional software.
Broadcast Graphics
Reality Hub's Lino module provides a single, unified playout interface for a wide range of graphics use cases, including multi-channel broadcast graphics, virtual studios, augmented reality, green-screen compositing, video walls, and on-screen overlays. In addition, integration with NRCS rundowns and broadcast automation devices via CII enables your broadcast pipeline to be incorporated into the Reality ecosystem, with all operations performed within Lino's channel-aware, unified rundown interface.
Multi-Channel Architecture
Reality Hub supports multiple independent graphics channels per engine. Each channel's graphics are controlled through the Lino playout system and represent a separate graphics output. Channels are managed independently, which allows different content types to be separated.
Zero-Code Custom Interfaces & External Data
Reality Hub’s Form Builder module is used to create custom user interfaces without writing code. Operators use these interfaces (Form Templates) to control graphics and data during operation with the Lino rundown. Form Builder also includes components for ingesting and processing external data. Supported data sources include weather, finance, elections, and sports systems, as well as databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Data can also be loaded from XLSX and CSV files stored locally, on shared folders, or on websites.
Access Control
Reality Hub’s User Management module provides access control (ACL) to define which users or user groups can access specific Reality Hub modules and features. The system uses a policy-based access control model, where policies define sets of rules that determine which modules and user features are accessible. This ensures that users can only access the specific features and modules needed to complete their job-related duties—for example, System Admins, Designers, Broadcast Engineers, and Production Crew can each have tailored access permissions.
Hardware Monitor
The Hardware Monitor module provides comprehensive insights into various hardware and software metrics crucial for monitoring system performance. Hardware specifications (CPU, GPU, OS, Memory, Video I/O) are automatically validated against recommended values for quick identification of potential compatibility problems.
Integration with Newsroom & Automation Systems
Reality Hub integrates with existing Newsroom Computer Systems (NRCS), such as Octopus, iNews, ENPS, Dina, and Ross OverDrive, as well as broadcast automation devices through the CII, allowing you to integrate your broadcast pipeline into the Reality ecosystem.
Development and Extensibility
Reality Hub includes an Open-Source SDK and a REST API. The REST API allows external systems to control Reality Hub programmatically and automate workflows. The SDK allows developers to build custom modules and extend Reality Hub functionality, enabling integration with third-party systems and custom production pipelines.
