Cleaning Filters

EVO II air filters are washable and do not require replacement or disposal of any additional materials. We recommend you clean filters periodically based on your environment’s dust levels to maintain optimal airflow and cooling performance.

Handling

Filter | Back View

  • When handling or cleaning the filter, hold it along the edges or the solid center area to minimize stress on the fine, mesh-like sections.
  • Do not use brushes, scrubbing pads, or high-pressure water, as these can cause wear or damage to the filter.
  • Avoid forcefully colliding the filter with its slot, as this may shatter the neodymium magnets inside.
warning

Individuals with medical devices should maintain a safe distance from neodymium magnets, typically at least 15 cm (6 inches) or as advised by their doctor, it may interfere with the function of cardiac pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).

Pausing Fans

Consider

Removing air filters while the EVO II is running during a live event is only recommended for inspection purposes. For cleaning, we recommend doing so while the EVO II is idle and the fans are paused.

You can pause each front fan via the Front Panel Display. The image above illustrates that the left fan is working while the right front fan is stopped via the Front Panel Display interface.

Unplugging Filters

Unplugging Filter

  • Carefully detach the filter from its edges by pulling it straight out from the chassis. Avoid applying excessive force to prevent deformation.

Cleaning

  • If the filter has stubborn dirt, prepare a mild cleaning solution with water and a few drops of dish soap.
  • Gently swirl the filter in the solution, ensuring all areas are exposed to the soapy water.
  • After using soap, rinse the filter thoroughly with clean, lukewarm water to ensure no residue is left.
  • Shake the filter gently to remove excess water.
  • Place the filter in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, to air-dry completely.
  • Ensure the filter is fully dry before reinserting it into the chassis.

Reinserting

  • Ensure the filter is completely dry and free from any remaining dust or debris.
  • Align the filter with the holder in the chassis and gently slide it back into place.
  • Verify that the filter is secured correctly and that airflow is unobstructed.
