note

This section is under active construction. If you have immediate questions or require technical support, please contact our Support Department via https://support.zerodensity.io/.

This guide shows you how to attach the slide rails to your server chassis and install it into a standard EIA rack cabinet.

Before You Start

  • A. These slides are made for 2U servers or larger. Do not use them with 1U servers.
  • B. The brackets fit EIA rails with square holes only. They attach from the back side of the rail.

What’s in the Box

  • 1 × Left slide rail (L)
  • 1 × Right slide rail (R)
  • 4 × H-370 (M5) screws (for front ear brackets)
  • 2 × H-315 (M4x6) screws (for attaching to the chassis).
warning

Using abovementioned screws are crutial. Utilizing any other screw may damage other componenets especially if they are longer than intended design. (BURANIN USTUNDEN GEC)

Step 1: Remove the Inner Part of Each Slide

Pull out the part that attaches to the server:

  1. Pull the slide all the way out until it stops.
  2. Press down the release trigger.
  3. Pull the inner rail completely out and separate it from the rest of the slide.

Step 2: Attach the Inner Rails to the Server

  1. Line up the key-shaped holes on the inner rail with the T-pins on the side of the server.
  2. Match the bottom row of holes on the rail with the top row of pins/holes on the server.
  3. Slide the rail forward until all T-pins go fully into the narrow part of the key slots.
  4. Secure the rail using the provided H-315 / H-207 screws.
info

The T-pin mounting points on the server chassis must already be formed correctly according to the required dimensions.

Step 3: Attach the Outer Rails to the Rack

  1. Make sure the safety lock is unlocked before you begin.
  2. From the back side of the rack rail, insert the bracket pins into the upper and lower square holes.
  3. Push the safety lock forward to latch the bracket firmly onto the rack post.

How to Remove the Bracket (if needed)

  1. Press and hold the release lever on the safety lock.
  2. Push the bracket backward to pull the pins out of the square holes.
  3. Lift the bracket away from the rack rail.

Step 4: Slide the Server into the Rack

Critical

For safety, at least 2 people are required to lift and install the server.

  1. Make sure the ball bearings are in the fully open position before inserting the server.(If not, the slides can break.)
  2. Carefully line up the inner rails (on the server) with the outer rails (in the rack).
  3. Push the server straight in along the bearings.
  4. When the slide locks as you push it in, press the release trigger to unlock it, then push the server all the way in until it is fully seated.

Final Check

  • Pull the server partway out to confirm it slides smoothly and stops safely.
  • Press the release triggers to push it back in.
  • Secure the server by inserting the H-370 screws through the center hole of each front ear bracket. This keeps the server stable during use or shipping.
